## Summary

It provides a superb opportunity for those pupils who wish to work with animals, wild or domestic, or who wish to have something unusual to sit alongside their scientific qualifications. Students will be able to move on to study veterinary medicine, veterinary nursing, zoology, conservation - and many other courses not directly connected with animals. This course takes place at Dicker centre (Bede's Senior School) which is located in the village of Upper Dicker in the heart of the Sussex countryside, just north of the seaside town of Eastbourne which attracts both domestic and international tourists. The school is based on a former country estate and has a unique, homely feel, ideal for young teenagers.Designed to reflect the feeling of life in a rural community, the spacious campus offers accommodation for up to 220 students and has five boarding houses that inspire a sense of community and belonging - ideal for both more reserved and confident students. This fully-inclusive programme also features sports and activities every afternoon. Professional Sport & Adventure and Creative Academies are also available as extras. The evening entertainment programme provides an opportunity for recreation and fun and is designed to immerse students in the English language and culture in a stimulating and innovative way. Excursions enable students to enjoy visiting places of interest as many as three times a week. These can include a memorable cultural visit to a castle, museum or palace, a visit to a popular tourist attraction such as Big Ben, the London Eye, Madame Tussauds or something more recreational such as a trip to an aquarium, theme park or zoo. Wednesday trips are a full-day visit to a local zoo, where students will have the opportunity to look beyond their own campus and take part in talks and get a unique behind the scenes access on visits.
The Dicker campus offers accommodation for boys and girls across five modern boarding houses, each boasting comfortable social spaces for students to relax in. Most bedrooms have 2-4 beds with shared bathrooms, with the newest house offering single and double en-suite bedrooms. Facilities at Dicker include a large modern sports hall, indoor swimming pool, gym, squash and tennis courts, astroturf, football and cricket pitches, dance studios, drama theatre, IT suites, art studios, plus Bede's own Zoo!
