## Summary

The USA Junior Mathematical Olympiad (USAJMO) uses the same two-day, six-question proof format as USAMO (three problems each day, 4.5 hours, 13:00–17:30 ET on 20–21 March 2027). Students who qualify for AIME through AMC 10 are assigned to USAJMO. Additional USAMTS rules may apply. Top performers may be invited to MOP.

### Parent advice

USAJMO is not an easier USAMO on a different weekend — it is the parallel junior olympiad for students who reached AIME through AMC 10. Full written proofs are required. It is not a qualifier into USAMO in the same season.

### Student advice

Treat USAJMO as a national proof olympiad. Study past USAJMO and USAMO papers. If you also qualified through AMC 12, MAA assigns you to USAMO instead.

### Teacher advice

For 2027, olympiad selection is primarily from AIME scores. Check MAA’s USAMO/USAJMO policies for USAMTS rules. No alternate dates.

## How to prepare

- Practise writing complete proofs, not just finding answers
